Coffee Ceremony @ the Maryland Folk Festival

Join us Saturday September 21 at 1pm at Two Scoops Ice Cream & Waffles—during the Maryland Folk Festival—for a coffee roasting demonstration and an Ethiopian coffee ceremony.

Coffee can trace its origins to the highlands of Ethiopia where, in the 11th century, it was discovered by either an Ethiopian goatherd named Kaldi, or by a Muslim cleric named Omar—or both. Coffee became, and still is, a part of the cultural backbone of Ethiopia.
